Westwood Village Improvement Association (WVIA) Town Hall Meeting

Westwood Village Improvement Association (WVIA) Town Hall Meeting
Monday, February 23, 2015, 5:00pm
10880 Wilshire Blvd., Lobby Level Conference Room

Come out to express to the WVIA the need for bicycle infrastructure on Westwood Blvd., a key direct route to and from campus for many cyclists — to enhance safe travel options, community health, and support thriving businesses.
Ryan Snyder, President, Ryan Snyder Associates, LLC, will give a special presentation on the proposed Westwood Boulevard Bikeways “Remove Nothing Plan” to local merchants, neighbors and stakeholders.

If you haven’t been to a meeting as this previously, come check it out. We hope to see you all there! Your presence and voices truly make a difference.

  • Michael Cahn

This is the tall building at the South/East corner of Wilshire/Westwood. If you drive your bike into the parking structure on Westwood, you will find yourself above the lobby level. The meeting room is at the end of the corridor.

The plan presented by Ryan Snyder will re-start the process to consolidate bikelanes on Westwood Blvd. There will be a chance to share your thoughts on the need for this Blvd to becomes a better and especially a safer place. (They ask you to fill out a speaker card for a 1 or 2 minute statement)

Bicycle infrastructure will be the first step toward making Westwood Blvd a better place. The street is waiting to become a lively part of the neighborhood of UCLA, not just a cut through channel for vehicles bound elsewhere. Your voice is needed to help Westwood Blvd on its way to become Main Street UCLA.

While some groups of property owners in the neighborhood still express concerns, the last few meetings on this topic were polite and respectful.
