Join us for L.A. Streetsblog’s Next Fundraiser, June 17 at Flying Pigeon

On Friday, June 17, L.A. Streetsblog rolls back in to Northeast L.A. for its 2nd Annual Fundraiser with the Flying Pigeon Bike Shop on 3714 N. Figueroa Street.  The event will be in two parts, with a bike ride beginning at 6:30 P.M. and an after party beginning at 8:00.  We're asking for $10 to joins us on the ride, $10 for the after party or $15 for both.  Of course, everything is on a sliding scale and nobody will be turned away.

The ride will be a guided tour of the bike history of Northeast Los Angeles including the Bike Oven, Cafe de Leche (home of the first bike corral in Los Angeles) and the start point for Northeast L.A. Critical Mass.  We'll post the full route sometime in the next two weeks.

The after party will be at the bike shop, and will have food, drinks and a special viewing from the Chicken Leather film vault.  That's right, we'll finally have access to some of the thousands of hours of bike films put together by Los Angeles' first bike film historian.

Joining me and DJ Chicken Leather in throwing this party is our host committee are Josef Bray-Ali, the co-owner of the Flying Pigeon, Alice Strong, Dan Dabek, Mark Vallianatos and Nick Richert, the host of Bike Talk.  To RSVP, visit our Facebook page.
