By being so defensive, they turned a casual story about security issues with the two transit agencies in San Diego County, MTS and NCTD – into a full blown investigation that likely will not stop until the CEO and Communications Manager of NCTD are removed. As the headline says, “What began as a look into security issues within San Diego’s two transit agencies — the Metropolitan Transit System and the North County Transit District — has morphed into a full-scale investigation into the operations of just one.” This is why public agencies need to cooperate with the press.
