Metro Van Nuys Bl Rapidway Project Meetings

Metro and the City of Los Angeles recently launched the Van Nuys Bl Rapidway environmental clearance, the first phase of which is an Alternative Analysis Study. The purpose of the study is to
identify options for improving transit service along the corridor between Ventura Bl and the I-210 freeway that would connect it to the regional transportation network.
At the conclusion of the first phase, those options which best meet the project’s purpose and need will move forward into the environmental clearance process.

Initial alternatives being considered include:

No Build – Maintains current transit services and projects that are fully funded by 2035

Transportation System Management (TSM) – Includes No Build plus low-cost, easy to implement capital improvements such as signal timing modifications

Bus Rapid Transit similar to Metro Orange Line

Light Rail Transit similar to Metro Gold, Blue and Green Lines

Streetcar similar to the City of Portland
