LA Streetsblog Turns One

It was one year ago today that The Open Planning Project officially launched Streetsblog Los Angeles. Since then the blog has grown ten-fold from the seventy to eighty visitors I averaged on a daily basis at Street Heat, to what we see today. Personally, I’ve also grown as a reporter and advocate as I continue to learn more about our area, our politics, and our transportation network. I’ve been blessed to get inside of issues

Since LA Streetsblog launched, Streetsblog added a third page in San Francisco and opened the Streetsblog Network.  Streetsblog is growing nationally even faster than it is growing here in Los Angeles.

On anniversaries, there’s usually a lot of people to thanked for their help.  The number of people that have given me story ideas, sent links, provided interviews, wrote comments, corrected something I wrote, or even wrote a story on their own is way too large a number to write here.  However, it is safe to say that if you’re reading this, I probably owe you one.  So, thanks.  Stick with us, and hopefully we’ll make next year an even better one than this year.

Streetsblog has migrated to a new comment system. New commenters can register directly in the comments section of any article. Returning commenters: your previous comments and display name have been preserved, but you'll need to reclaim your account by clicking "Forgot your password?" on the sign-in form, entering your email, and following the verification link to set a new password — this is required because passwords could not be carried over during the migration.
