Coalition Celebrates Measure M Passing By Nearly 70 Percent
It is official: Measure M passed. Los Angeles County has voted, again, to tax itself to pay for a suite of projects to facilitate transit, driving, walking and bicycling. Measure M will double Metro's 100 mile rail system over the next 40 years. As of this morning, Measure M achieved its needed two-thirds and is currently passing by 69.82 percent.

Who Is Lining Up to Fight Measure M
So far, most of Streetsblog L.A.'s coverage of Measure M, Metro's sales tax proposal that will be on the fall ballot, has been positive. With our eyes fixed on graphics showing the growth of our rail and rapid bus network, a robust active transportation funding program, and some flexibility in the language allocating highway funding; there's a lot to like in the proposal.

It’s Official: 2016 November Sales Tax Is “Measure M”
Metro asked for the "M" in its ballot measure request to the County Board of Supervisors. No more provisional monikers like R2, R2.1 or #metroplan. Metro announced today that the countywide transportation sales tax will be named "Measure M" on the November ballot.

New ‘Build Better LA’ Ballot Initiative Would Require Affordable Housing and Local Hiring
A coalition spearheaded by the L.A. County Federation of Labor, announced Thursday that it has filed language for a ballot initiative that supporters say will increase affordable housing and jobs in the city of Los Angeles.
