The Week in Livable Streets Events' two-week summer hiatus is over. Lots to do this week with High Speed Rail, another Seleta Reynolds public event, back to school day, feminists on wheels, AHSC funding, and a full weekend.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday - The California High Speed Rail Authority holds three more meetings in Southern California to explain some of its most recent plans for completing the rail line from the Bay Area to San Diego. Melanie provided a preview of the meetings here, and Joe went to one in Burbank last week. Find out where this week's meetings are by clicking here.
Tuesday - It's back to school day. If you're planning to walk or bicycle with your kid to a new place, make sure to check out the route ahead of time. We'll have a more complete back to school guide later today.
Tuesday - CA Strategic Growth Council hosts a webcast on their Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC) funding program. Join the webcast from 1-2pm, details here.
Tuesday - Support the launch of F.L.O.W. - bicycling feminists! Book drive and fundraiser 7:30pm in Echo Park.
Wednesday - On her third day on the job, the new General Manager of LADOT will be expected to give a "verbal report relative to the status of the Department's on-going projects and programs, transit services offered by the Department, and the state of mobility for pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles within the City of Los Angeles" to the City Council Transportation Committee at 2 pm in City Hall. Friday - California Strategic Growth Council workshop, details here. The only L.A. workshop is already full. sign-up for wait list, and/or listen in to the on-line version on Tuesday.
Saturday - Southern California Transit Advocates will return to Metro's TAP Lab. This will be an opportunity to learn about the status of the program and implementation of the changes that will facilitate the fare change that will take place September 15th. For more information, click here.
Saturday - Anyone not wanting to drive or take the bus to Saturday's Dodger game will be lucky to have a choice of advocacy groups to join for a trip to the ballpark. L.A. Walks is planning a group walk from the Gold Line Chinatown Station. The Eastside Bike Club is planning their own ride from the El Sereno Parklet (which will also feature a night-time ride through DTLA after the game.)
Sunday - Amoeba Music is throwing a bike culture party to benefit the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition. The event will feature food, music and plenty to drink. Get all the details, here.
