Featured Headline: Yesterday, Metro experimented with locking the gates between 1:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M. at the Wilshire/Normandie station on the Purple Line.  I had a chance to speak with Jane Matsumoto who has been overseeing Metro's TAP program who reports that Metro customers were able to figure out how to slide their TAP card before going through a tunrstile.  “It’s going smoothly, our riders are getting through the Gate.” One of the goals of this program is to find out how many Metro users are still using paper day passes instead of the TAP card.  Today may have went smoothly, but to get an accurate picture, they're going to have to try this at rush hour sometime....
