Streefilms’ “Lessons from L.A.”: The Eco-Village

Last year, Streetfilms' Nick Whitaker visited Los Angeles and produced two streetfilms in the coming months:  The first was a film promoting the Orange Line to urbanists interested in Bus Rapid Transit and the second a rush hour tour of Hollywood with pedestrian advocate Deborah Murphy.

Today, he released his third, and last, Streetfilm done on that trip: a short film on the Los Angeles Eco-Village.  While it's true that urban reformers in L.A. often find themselves stymied by a government that raises speed limits and eliminates crosswalks in the name of safety; Whitaker reminds us again that the spirit of many Angelenos to seek out something different remains unsurpassed.

In the third installment of Lessons from LA, the people who work andlive at the LA Eco-Village show how even in an urban setting, there areways to live closer to the earth and in better harmony with the peopleand environment around you.
