Friday Poll Day: Do You Support Driver’s Licenses for Undocumented Immigrants
Back in mid-December, Streetsblog published an editorial arguing that it makes more sense to allow undocumented immigrants to earn driver's licenses so that a law requiring the police to impound cars driven by those without a license. Our argument: if you aren't allowed to get a license, there's no way to know if you're a safe driver or not based solely on whether or not you have a license. Apparently this was a compelling enough argument that the Daily News and Los Angeles Times have both published similar editorials in the past two days.

Friday Poll Day
Almost a month ago, I asked you to tell me what kind of Streetsblog merchandise you would be most likely to buy. I'm not hip, I get that. So in an effort to help me pick the right kind of trendy Streetsblog Schwag to make for this holiday year and beyond, I need/needed your help. Over half of you who voted on 9/1, told me that you wanted Streetsblog bags.

Friday Poll Day: Help Us Select the Next Piece of Streetsblog Schwag
Last year, at our August re-launch party, we unveiled the L.A. Streetsblog t-shirts (still available here!). The shirts sold so well, that we had to go to a second printing, but as you would expect it's started to slow a little in recent months. Thus, we decided to come up with some new schwag before the holidays roll around this year. Take the poll and tell us what you would be most likely to purchase with a Streetsblog logo on it. Are you so dedicated you would get more than one thing? With this poll you can check more than once answer.

Quick Poll: Do You Like “Featured Headline”
This week I experimented with a change to the format of Today's Headlines by adding a featured story. This section is for stories that are major stories, but ones I don't have anything new to add to the story. It could be a meeting I didn't attend, or that the local news did such a good job covering the story that I had nothing to add.

Friday Poll Day: “American Voices” on the Bicycling Anti-Harassment Ordinance
Earlier this week, The Onion took its swipe at the Bicyling Anti-Harassment Ordinance, passed by the City Council last week and signed into law by Antonio Villaraigosa earlier this week. In their long-running "American Voices" series, a group of fake people make snide comments about the law showing the confusion and bufoonery that one would expect from America's Finest News Source.

Beyond “Watch the Road:” Safety Messages Appearing on Buses
Last summer we had "Caution Pass with Care" and "Give Me 3," this summer we have bus companies sponsoring messages about safe travel on P.S.A.'s attached to the bus. Here on the Westside, both the Santa Monica Big Blue Bus and UCLA Transit buses are driving around town with messages urging drivers to "share the road." That's a big step up from just watching it.
