Friday Poll Day: Is De La Vega the Right Choice for LADOT
Amir Sedadi had a rough run as Interim General Manager of the LADOT. Between near revolts in Venice over the city's homeless policy and the San Fernando Valley over a plan to try and stop drivers from killing people on Wilbur Avenue, the long time civil servant seemed to always be on the hot seat. Add in the mini scandals involving parking meter cops appearing in porn films and the "Gold Card" scandal, and he probably isn't going to miss being in the top seat.

Friday StreetPoll: 710 Gap Project
As promised, here's our poll, based on your suggestions, for an "official Streetsblog name" for the I-710 Extension Project. We'll do this "L.A. city election style." If no project name gets a 50% vote by the time next Friday rolls around, we'll have a runoff between the top two names. The winning name will be the one we use on Streetsblog for the rest of the project study.

Friday Poll Day: What’s Your Preferred Design for South Figueroa
We've already given some coverage to the South Figueroa corridor project funded by the Community Redevelopment Agency, highlighting some very progressive designs that the project team has put out. Friday StreetPoll: Pick the Best Roadside P.S.A.
If you're a fan on road signage as traffic calming, then 2011 is shaping up to be quite a year for you! First the Department of D.I.Y. rolled out some signage attached to power boxes around the city asking drivers to "Please pass with care." Later in the summer, the collaborative efforts of the Bike Coalition, Midnight Ridazz, Mayor's Office and LAPD came the "Give Me 3" Poster Campaign. In the Fall, just in time for Back to School, the LADOT's Watch the Road Campaign placed advertisement's on billboard that encourage people to both "Watch the Road" and "Be safe. Be healthy. Walk or Bike to School."

Friday Street Poll: Who Is the Best Online Defender of the Westside Subway
A couple of weeks ago Metro released their Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Westside Subway, formerly known as the Subway to the Sea. The DEIR contained a lot of good news for the city including a slight reduction in automobile congestion along the corridor despite hundreds of thousands of new residents coming to the area over the next twenty five years.

Friday StreetPoll: Who’s a Critical Mass Rider?
With another Critical Mass coming up tonight, it seems a good time to ask the obvious question...
