Council Celebrates Bike Week by Reforming Advisory Committee
Bike activists have long complained about the city’s official Bike Advisory Committee (LABAC). In fact, I’ve never heard anyone that wasn’t on the committee say something nice about the committee. Today, those complaints will be heard and amplified when the City Council’s Planning and Land Use Committee hear a motion to reform the LABAC.

Bike Week Kicks off at Universal Studios
I'm still not sure about how having an undead three thousand year old monster bumping into people's bikes and snarling at them is the best way to promote cycling, but the event itself was a lighter promotional event designed to be a media friendly reminder that cycling is the right choice for traveling when possible. I think it worked...four television cameras and the Daily News Streetsblog in covering the event.

Next Week is Bike Week in LA County
Next week is Metro’s “Bike to Work Week” and Metro has planned a series of events designed to promote bicycling, including the popular Bike to Work Day. Taking a Bike to Dodger Stadium
The New York Mets were in town this week and that means I had a chance to go see some baseball in Dodger Stadium. Being the studious transportation blogger I am, I made sure to take all three available modes, bike, foot and car, to the ball game. It's a good thing there wasn't a fourth game, because there's still no word on mass transit heading to Dodger Stadium anytime this season.

New London Mayor Talks Up Buses and Bikes
Here's an interview from last year with London Mayor Boris Johnson, who ousted Ken Livingstone last week. It's pretty remarkable in that Johnson spends the first eight minutes talking about buses and bikes.
