I just returned home from a life-changing experience: dropping my kid off at kindergarten for their first time. The bucket bike stayed home (today) and my wife and I walked him the roughly quarter mile to school.

The Week in Livable Streets Events' two-week summer hiatus is over. Lots to do this week with High Speed Rail, another Seleta Reynolds public event, back to school day, feminists on wheels, AHSC funding, and a full weekend.

Amoeba Music is holding its first ever Hot August Bikes event, which benefits LACBC!

On Sunday, August 24th, the Santa Monica Museum of Art’s annual Tour da Arts returns with vol. 6! The Museum’s free, all day bicycle festival and tour welcomes riders of all ages and abilities to enjoy art, music and dazzling performances.  C.I.C.L.E. will lead a nine-mile community bicycle ride with unique sights and sounds with stops at John Adams Middle School for a live shadow performance with artist Miwa Matreyek; interactive music and movement concert with Anna Oxygen at the Santa Monica Bay Women’s Club; and a street theater performance at the Museum by Bike Odyssey LA to relive Homer’s Odyssey.

The LA Explorers Club, with a bit of support from C.I.C.L.E., is partnering with LA history experts, Esotouric, for this special bike ride through Hollywood's Culture and Lore. Esotouric is an actual tour company that knows the dirty secrets of LA and we are so happy to be collaborating for their first bike tour.

Tuesday, August 5th is National Night Out The Eastside Bike Club will be hosting a FAMILY FRIENDLY SUMMER NIGHT BIKE RIDE in El Sereno. This is a short, slow, flat bike ride where we encourage families and in particular kids to join us on this ride.
