AASHTO: Government Shutdown Could Cost Transportation Sector $100M/Day
If the House, Senate, and President Obama don’t agree on a course of action by the end of this week, the U.S. will be left with no federal budget, and the government will shut down. Transit agencies and construction interests don't seem alarmed, but the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials estimates that a government shutdown would stop $100 million in transportation dollars a day from flowing into the national economy.

In CD 12, Smith’s Heir Apparent Faces Five Challengers
In the North part of the San Fernando Valley, there's a six candidate free-for all to replace retiring Councilman Greig Smith. The clear front-runner in the race, in terms of endorsements and dollars, is Smith's Chief of Staff Mitch Englander. Leading the pack of challengers is Brad Smith, who is joined by Dinesh Lankanpahl, Kelly Lord, Navraj Singh, and Armineh Chelebian. In this election, the major issues are jobs and trying to protect the Valley's suburban residential neighborhoods.

The Ports Are Ours Port Ride, 3/3/11
It's that time of the month again! That's right, the semi monthly ride through the ports of LA and/or LB. This Thursday night we'll be rolling through LB ports from 9pm to 3am. Why? Cause the ports are ours that night! Port traffic is shutdown for the night cause of a semi-monthly stop work meeting that the labor unions initiate. And we're the bi-product of that stoppage!
