DWP Wants to Finish Silver Lake Jogging Path with Boardwalk
The Silver Lake Neighborhood Council is holding a Town Hall Meeting this Saturday from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the Silver Lake Recreation Center to discuss the proposed boardwalk that would run parallel to Tesla Boulevard at the northern end of the Silver Lake/Ivanhoe Reservoir. The Boardwalk would both "complete the jogging trail" that was opened in 2008 and, as the LADWP told the Eastsider back in March, would "get pedestrians off the narrow street on Tesla, where there is two-way traffic and heavy pedestrian use."

KROQ Steps Up for Wounded Hit and Run Victim
Too often, we focus on the issues that create a crash, and what can be done to prevent them in the future. However, once a crash has occurred, there are real victims. Once a crosswalk is installed and there are shiny new lights; there are still maimed victims trying to move on with their lives. Sometimes they are back on their feet in what seems no time at all. Other times, it is more of a struggle.

Tomorrow’s Big Urban Land Institute Conference Looks at 4 L.A. TOD’s
The Urban Land Institute, a national organization that looks at Transit Oriented Development, has stepped up its working in Los Angeles recently. In addition to releasing reports on the state of T.O.D. in the city, they've also sponsored workshops and discussions on some particular developments. Streetsblog and the ULI don't always agree, (for example: they proposed more car parking as a cure for the problems with the Blue Line Slausson Station area), but there's no doubting the group's reach and expertise.
