This Week in Livable Streets Events
It's the Independence Day holiday week, so SBLA be publishing lightly (more photos, fewer typos) on Thursday, and off Friday July 4th. There is at least one huge event: the changing of the guard at the city of Los Angeles' Transportation Department (LADOT.) All of the advocacy in the world isn't going to make much of a difference if the wrong people are in office. Primary election day is Tuesday. Two of the seats on the L.A. County Board of Supervisors will be voted on, as will a new head of the Sheriff's Department. A new mayor will be selected in that quaint little suburb of 500,000 people just south of here. There's a lot to be decided. Make sure to vote.

There's some big stuff on this pre-holiday week. The two biggest things are clearly the "Ride of Silence" and the Metro Board meeting.

It's Bike Week, so there are bike-related events nearly every day. We're not going to mention every bike week event, nor provide a comprehensive list of Bike to Work Day stops and Happy Hours. But you can find that information here for Metro's calendar and here for the always over-achieving Bike Week Pasadena.
