Update on Last Week’s DASH Crash and Pedestrian Fatality
News and opinion continues to come in on last week's horrific crash between a DASH bus and 58 year old pedestrian Gwendolyn Coleman. The most important of which came yesterday when Steve Hymon reported at LA Now that the police have determined that Coleman had the right away and a green light when the DASH bus slammed into her.

Streetsblog Is Back and Looking Forward to 2009
Let's face it, the end of 2008 presented a lot of bad signs that hopefully won't be carrying over to the New Year. President-Elect Obama seems to be pushing a stimulus plan that would poor billions into road projects and much less into transit or other green transportation and locally the streets are getting less safe for cyclists and pedestrians.

Breaking News: Road Rage Doc’s Trial Moves Forward
For those of you following the saga of Dr. Christopher Thompson, the driver in the July 4th Road Rage crash that left two cyclists in the hospital, his case is moving forward. Thompson's case gained national attention because of the brutal images of the crash that were captured, and the appalling lack of concern showed by some residents of the canyon.

Update: City Charges Jassy with Murder in Assault of Pianist
Yesterday, the City of Los Angeles announced that Swedish Rapper David Jassy would be charged with murder in addition to the previous charges of assault and leaving the scene of an "accident." Update: Police Report on Lancaster Bike Fatality
An alert and obviously well-informed reader got a copy of the police report from Tuesday's fatal bike crash in Lancaster. Some readers felt that I assumed the car driver to be at fault without knowing the facts. The point of that article, and this one, isn't to place blame on anyone but show how the media, in it's efforts to not place any sort of blame, often makes it sound like cyclists are at fault in these sorts of collisions.
