Last Thursday UCLA hosted its third annual Complete Streets Conference in Downtown Los Angeles. I was excited to have had the opportunity to attend with such a packed line up for the all day event, with a few big names in the mix including the esteemed Janette Sadik-Khan.

CicLAvia Has 12 “Sadik-Khan” Type Projects for L.A. What Are Yours?
Over at CicLAvia's blog, Joe Linton, who is no stranger to Streetsblog readers, has an interesting article featuring a dozen "Sadik-Khan" like projects that could, and should, be done by the city of Los Angeles before next year's Street Summit. After her inspiring perfomance at this year's Summit, NYCDOT Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan promised to come back next year and see how we're doing. To, to the city of L.A. I say, "Tick-tock city! students, bike advocates from around the county, and others interested
in Livable Streets packed the auditorium to hear Sadik-Kahn show the
changes that have come to New York City's streets under her and Mayor
Michael Bloomberg's leadership in the past three years.

New York’s Game Changer, Janette Sadik-Khan, Will Visit L.A. This March
Occidental College's UEPI Blog announced earlier this morning that this year's keynote speaker for the Bike Summit will be none other than New York City's Livable Streets Hero Janette Sadik-Khan. For those of you that have never read the original Streetsblog or any of my New York-related stories; Sadik-Khan rose to be Commissioner of NYCDOT and immediately changed the department's goals from car-culture defenders to Portland-esque urban planners.
