This weekend, June 1st and 2nd, Los Angeles Bike Polo is hosting an International Tournament: Bench Minor IV. When I heard about this, I snagged a chance to meet fellow LA bike polo player and Organizer of the event, Alex Dash, aka JOKER as he is known in the Poloverse!

Stop any cyclist in South L.A. and ask them their thoughts on bike-to-work day and I can almost guarantee you'll get a snort, a dismissive hand wave, and an, "Aw, man, I do this every day!"

Bikeaggeddon as Metro Closes Bike Path for 405 “Improvements.” Re-Opening Date a Moving Target
On April 16, Metro sent out a notice to Westside stakeholders of the 405 "Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project" that a bike path from Waterford Street to Constitution Avenue on the Southbound side of the 405 would be closed from April 18 until May 2 from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Cyclists groaned.

Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner Adopts Wildly Anti-Bicycle Policy
Starting on June 1, the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner service connecting San Luis Obispo to San Diego by way of Los Angeles is adopting a new policy that will make life harder for anyone planning on biking to or from the train. The policy is so onerous for bicycle commuters, one has to assume it's intentional.

Behind the Scenes, Are Hollywood’s Councilmen Delaying the Repainting of Spring Street Green Buffered Bike Lane
Surely Film L.A. doesn't have so much clout that it can hold up the simple repainting of an already fading and chipped green buffered bike lane on Spring Street over the wishes of the Mayor's Office, LADOT, local City Council Member Jose Huizar and the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council. So what's the delay?
