Weekend Update: The Crash Is Back
The rumors are true. The "Marathon Crash" ride is back on for this evening. City staff and Wolfpack Hustle reached an agreement to continue the city's support for a FUN RIDE starting early tomorrow morning at 3 a.m. For anyone interested in joining the ride, you can get the new details at the Wolfpack Hustle Facebook Page.

While the Times pretty much treats the city's version of events as fact, it still finds the city at fault for forcing the cancellation of a fun, low-cost event that attracted thousands of Angelenos to a safe and healthy event. Assuming the City Council doesn't miss perhaps the easiest public relations win since nearly all of them managed to avoid having their pictures taken with Toronto's crack-smoking, bike hating, misogynistic, homophobic mayor earlier this week, today will be the first official Complete Streets Day in Los Angeles.

Metro Scores $200 Million in Obama’s Proposed Budget
There is much celebrating going on by Metro and transit expansion advocates around the region. In President Barack Obama's proposed budget for next year, a cool $200 million is set aside for Los Angeles under the "new starts" program. $100 million of that is set to go towards the Regional Connector and the other $100 million to the Westside Subway extension.
