Though Hollenbeck Park is the jumping off point for many people in the Eastside to experience CicLavia, there are organized bike rides starting out on the eastside, and parties in the street itself, and intersections that will be teeming with activities both on and off the route. At the park itself, CicLAvia has a merchandise booth and REI Los Angles hosts a rocking climbing wall. Whether starting at the park, joining a group ride, or just planning a day in the sun by yourself, the eastside has a lot to offer. Check it out:

For Santa Monica to Remain a Place of Opportunity for New Residents, Changes Needed to Housing Policies
Santa Monica has done a lot of things right over the years, such as reinvesting in the public realm, supporting education, improving pedestrian accessibility, funding the Big Blue Bus, and being ahead of the curve regionally on bike facilities. However success is not without its own challenges. While many cities saw real estate prices plummet since the 2008 US housing market crash, Santa Monica has largely retained high home prices because it is such a desirable place to live. The downside of this trend is that multifamily residential rents are also climbing.

House Tries to Horse-Trade Senate Bill For Keystone Pipeline
In another desperate attempt to push forward their fossil fuel agenda, House Republicans have indicated that even though they've been incapable of passing a transportation bill, they're willing to go to conference committee and pass the Senate bill. All the Senate Democrats have to do in return is approve the Keystone XL pipeline.
