Expo Botanical Garden at Westwood and Expo One Step Closer to Reality
I have to admit that when Jonathan Weiss first described his idea for a Westwood-Expo Botanical Water Garden (WEBWG) at the Westwood Station for the Expo Line, I thought it would never happen. Three years later, it would be a major upset if some sort of Botanical Garden wasn't built at the station site, as the concept has gained traction even with groups opposing the rail line itself.

I’ve written about how transit could be improved and sidewalk vending legalized to increase access to healthy food. Before food can get from stores and food trucks and carts to shoppers, it first has to be transported from farms, through distribution chains, to retail sources. More Evidence That Bike Facilities Are Good for Local Businesses
It's a shame businesses so often line up against better bike infrastructure. Believing that business depends on customers who drive, local store owners have opposed bike improvements in Philadelphia, Memphis and many other cities.

Deputy Secretary Roy Kienitz Calls It Quits At USDOT
First Ray LaHood tells us he's not sticking around as Transportation Secretary much longer. Now his number two, Roy Kienitz, has announced he's gonna bounce too -- and he's not even going to wait around as long as LaHood. Kienitz will be out by next month.
