The latest streets and transportation news from Streetsblog L.A.

Today Metro started issuing warning tickets to cars parked in downtown L.A. bus lanes. This expands the joint Metro-LADOT program that’s already issuing $293 tickets using on-bus cameras on Wilshire and La Brea. Other cities have found similar bus lane enforcement programs improved bus speed and reliability, and increased ridership.

The Metro board of directors welcomes a new face: L.A. City Councilmember Imelda Padilla.
