Woah, this is a huge week. Bike rides for bike protestors, bike rides for womyn, bike rides for gay history, bike washes to benefit bike messengers and a ton of important meetings. Even if I weren't on a slow train across the country I'd be hard pressed to keep up.

The Week in Livable Streets Events: Tour LaBonge, 710, Streetfilms Fundraiser for Shay and More
Right Now - The Metro Board of Directors meets to vote on various matters related to the "Measure R+" ballot initiative for the November ballot. The Board will vote on the language that will appear on the ballot, an amendment allowing the Metro Board (with a two-thirds vote) to move funds from highway to transit projects within a geographic region, and many other things. The Week in Livable Streets Events
The devastating local impact of fracking might be one of the most important, and least discussed, major environmental issues in Southern California. Sahra Sulaiman covered a recent meeting between Baldwin Hills residents and the government agency allegedly overseeing the fracking going on in local oil fields. To say she was dissapointed and concerned is an understatement. There are two local events on fracking this week. If you live in or near Culver City or Long Beach, pay attention.
