Sidewalk Politics Enters Into the City Controller’s Race
Whether a coincidence or not, yesterday City Council Member Dennis Zine showed one of the advantages of political incumbency. Zine, on the same day that voters could main in ballots for city-wide races including the Controller's race, announced a $1 million plan to fix sidewalks in 50 "hotspots" in Zine's West Valley District. Rate the Debate: Which Candidate Gave the Best Answer to the $100 Million Freight Rail from the Ports Question?
Earlier today, Streetsblog asked you which candidate's answer you thought was the best to a question on the proposed Leimert Park Station stop on the Crenshaw Line. The last question before the debate "went to the world wide web" also pertained to a topic covered here many times, a proposed $1 billion rail project that would dramatically increase the rail capacity for the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles.

Rate the Debate: Which Candidate Gave the Best Answer to the Leimert Park Station Question?
Last night NBC 4 and KPCC hosted a two hour debate between the five leading candidates to replace Antonio Villaraigosa as Mayor of Los Angeles. The first hour of the debate was broadcast on the two channels, with the second hour live streamed on NBC 4's website.

CD 11 Livable Streets Candidate Forum Videos Online. Next Streetsblog TV Events Announced
It might have taken five days longer than we thought, but I finally uploaded the entire two hour Livable Streets Candidate Forum for the four candidates vying to succeed Bill Rosendahl in Council District 11. Watching the video again, it's striking how few times Rosendahl's name comes up in the discussion.
