Tomorrow’s Panel of Visionaries at Woodland Hills Includes Greuel, Feuer, and Shoup
Back east, NYC Streetsblog loves UCLA Professor and "Parking Rock Star" Donald Shoup. Shoup is best known for advancing the theory that there is a high cost to a community of undercharging for public parking. While LA Streetsblog would certainly count ourselves as fans of the professor and his work; I've always found it ironic that the LA based professor gets so much more play from advocates on the east coast than on the west coast.

Activists Slam NBC Universal Project in Times Op/Ed
The three co-chairs of the community based MTA/Universal Project Community Working Group penned an opinion piece skewering the planned NBC Universal development on an MTA Parking Lot near Universal Studios. Schwarzenegger Signs Anti-Sprawl Law, Vetos Container Fees
Yesterday was a big day in Sacramento as many important pieces of legislation required action by Governor Schwarzenegger or would expire even though they were passed by both branches of the state legislature. The result? The Governor signed legislation that links sprawl to climate change but also vetoed legislation that would have placed a fee on all containers entering and leaving the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
