Two-Year Outreach for Culver City’s Bike-Ped. Plan Ends This Saturday
I became passionate about biking when I lived in Paris. Mayor Bertrand Delanoe had implemented a bold transportation plan making biking safe, practical, accessible and fun. When I moved back here, I decided not to get caught up in the L.A. car culture: riding rather than driving whenever possible, and teaching my two kids to do the same. I have high hopes for my hometown Culver City, which has the perfect size and demographics to become truly bicycle and pedestrian friendly.

LA Bicycle Advisory Committee Convenes with LAPD as Tensions Run High
The revolution would not be televised -- or so we thought. Hushed by the darkened room, more than 50 bicyclists, police officers, members of the media, and community leaders turned toward the projector to watch a film clip that everyone had just confirmed, by a show of hands, that they had already seen.

Four House Republicans yesterday joined 24 Democratic colleagues in a
letter praising Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood for his public
support of federal bicycling and pedestrian investment -- a stance that
had generated some bad blood between LaHood and the trucking industry.

Bike Week Day 3: 2nd Annual Downtown Bike Ride
Always wish you could participate in Critical Mass,
Midnight Ridazz, or Crank Mob, but are more of a morning person? Then
today's Downtown LA bike ride was for you. At 8:30 this morning,
roughly 100 bicyclists, Metro Staff, and yours truly took an scenic tour
on the streets of Downtown.
