Venice NC Committee Calls for Data on, Not Termination of, Mar Vista Road Diet
For those of us living near the Great Streets/Vision Zero pilot program in West Los Angeles, every day brings new developments in the back-and-forth between advocates for safe streets and advocates for car commuters frustrated by delay. The road diet turned a six-lane road with a bike lane and car parking into a two-lane road with a parking-protected bike lane. The pilot project is set to run for one year, with reports coming in every three months.

Florence – the most dangerous intersection of the bunch by miles – won’t see too much in the way of upgrades, it appears. While the proposed signal modification might help control traffic there and give pedestrians a head start, it is genuinely surprising that more is not in the works.

Pacoima’s Van Nuys Blvd Celebrates L.A.’s Newest Protected Bikeway
This morning, Pacoima celebrated the city of Los Angeles' newest protected bike lanes on Van Nuys Blvd. The Van Nuys parking-protected bike lane extends 0.8-miles from Laurel Canyon Boulevard to San Fernando Road. This is the city's fourth protected bike lane facility, and the first in a predominantly low-income Latino community.
