Pop Up MANGo Meeting
With the potential to be LA's first neighborhood greenway, the Michigan Avenue Neighborhood Greenway represents an excellent opportunity for Santa Monica to create a safe, low-traffic route to get from the Bergamot area to downtown Santa Monica. This would allow Pico neighborhood kids to get to the new Tongva Park and the beach, would help create a route for Samohi students to bypass the hazards of Pico Blvd., and would simply make the neighborhood a more pleasant place in which to live.

Southern California Transit Advocates Holiday Banquet
The Annual Southern California Transit Advocates Holiday Banquet will be held Saturday Dec. 14, 2013 beginning at 5 p.m. at Taix French Restaurant, 1911 W. Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles (just east of Alvarado). This location is served by Metro routes 2 and 4 plus 200 and 603 cross Sunset at Alvarado; DASH Pico Union/Echo Park crosses Sunset at Echo Park Ave. just east of Taix. Cost is $25. There will be a gift bag of transit trinkets for attendees plus drawings for door prizes. Selections for entrée include Pot Roast of Beef, Roast Chicken or Pasta Monégasque. Special guest is Metro Library, Archives and Records Administrator Matthew Barrett.
