Metro’s 2010 Pedestrian Symposium
On Wednesday, May 12, 2010, Metro will be hosting the 2010
Pedestrian Symposium: Walking into the Future City. Metro requests the
participation of you and your organization. This esvent will explore
strategies to increase travel options and create sustainable, healthy,
livable communities. Participants will learn the latest information on
critical pedestrian planning issues and engage in an essential and
pertinent dialogue about the future of our communities. The event is
scheduled from 8:30am - 3:30pm and will be located in the Board Room at
Metro Headquarters, One Gateway Plaza, Los Angeles, CA 90012. To

Park 101 Community Outreach Meeting
The Park 101 District is an innovative plan for capping the 101 Freeway
in the Downtown area. It will provide opportunities for the creation of
new signature urban boulevards along First Street, Cesar Chavez Avenue,
Sunset Boulevard, Alameda Avenue, and Grand Avenue that will become
models for future great streets throughout Los Angeles. This area would
also become the cornerstone for new livable communities and corridors
for development in the adjacent neighborhoods of Chinatown, Little
Tokyo, Boyle Heights, Highland Park, Echo Park, Bunker Hill, Civic
Center, Historic Downtown, and Broadway!
