Long Beach Celebrates New Protected Bike Lanes On Artesia Boulevard
Long Beach celebrated its newest protected bike lane facility this morning. The Artesia Boulevard bike lanes extend half a mile from Atlantic Boulevard to Orange Avenue. The lanes are parking-protected, and feature green plastic reflective bollards, rubber curbs, and intermittent green pavement markings.

The full system launch is not until August 30, but the city of West Hollywood soft-launched its bike-share system yesterday. WeHo Pedals now has dozens of bicycles available at four initial stations. Introductory annual memberships are just $69.

Eyes on the Street: Motor Avenue’s New Parklets, Celebrate This Thursday
This week, the Motor Avenue Improvement Association will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating two great new parklets on Motor Avenue. The festivities will take place on Thursday August 11 at 1 p.m. at 3376 Motor Avenue in Palms. The parklets are part of the city of L.A. Department of Transportation (LADOT) innovative People St program, where communities can request plazas, parklets, and/or bike corrals.

New Bike Lanes Striped On Wilshire Boulevard In Westwood Condo Canyon
The city of L.A. Department of Transportation (LADOT) is putting the finishing touches on new bike lanes on Wilshire Boulevard in Westwood. The new bike lanes run 0.7 miles from Selby Avenue to Beverly Glen Boulevard. They extend the existing Wilshire bike lanes that currently run 0.2 miles from Beverly Glen to Comstock Avenue.

City of Azusa to Lease 145 Spaces to Metro for Station Parking
As per recent city council approval, the city of Azusa will lease 145 parking spaces at the Azusa Intermodal Transit Center to Metro for at least one year to alleviate an overflow of parking demand at the Downtown Azusa Gold Line station stop.
