Santa Monica To Open Real-Time Bike Traffic Counter on Main Street
Santa Monica tomorrow will join the ranks of cities using real-time information to encourage biking, through installation of an automated bike counter located at Main Street just south of Colorado Avenue. The official ribbon cutting will be tomorrow-Wednesday at noon.

New Road Diet Bike Lanes Striped On Northeast L.A.’s Fletcher Drive
The city of L.A. has nearly completed 0.8 miles of new road diet bike lane on Fletcher Drive, extending from San Fernando Road to Eagle Rock Boulevard. The lanes contribute to fairly strong bikeway network in northeast L.A.

Pacoima’s Van Nuys Blvd Celebrates L.A.’s Newest Protected Bikeway
This morning, Pacoima celebrated the city of Los Angeles' newest protected bike lanes on Van Nuys Blvd. The Van Nuys parking-protected bike lane extends 0.8-miles from Laurel Canyon Boulevard to San Fernando Road. This is the city's fourth protected bike lane facility, and the first in a predominantly low-income Latino community.

Protected Bike Lanes May Be Coming To Lankershim Blvd In 2017
North Hollywood's Lankershim Boulevard may be getting more and better bike lanes next year. Saturday's Lankershim Blvd Community Pop-Up featured a temporary protected bike lane and pocket-park, and a small street fair with food, music, art and more.

EWDD Considers Two Proposals for CRA/LA-Owned Lot at Mariachi Plaza
The Economic and Workforce Development Department (EWDD) recently reported that it was considering two proposals for the development of the vacant lot at 1st and Boyle, just across the street from Mariachi Plaza. It received the proposals in response to a 78-page Request for Proposals (RFP) released this past May, which had detailed the specifics of the property, the history of the area and the community's aspirations for the site, and the requirements for the project as well as those governing the application process. Koretz Takes Credit for Expo Line, While Spreading Blame for Its Flaws
Paul Koretz has delivered is the worst section of the Expo Line. Koretz’ section has a mile-long gap in the bike path. Koretz’ section has kids walking in the street because of a missing sidewalk between the Palms Station and Lycée Français High School.

My Figueroa Breaks Ground, Opening Anticipated June 2017
Today city of Los Angeles leaders celebrated the groundbreaking for the long awaited My Figueroa complete streets project. Construction is getting underway this month. The facility is anticipated to open in June 2017.
