On Sunday, a Cal-State Fullerton student name Yao Loo was, in the words of CBS 2 a car "plowed into the girl, launched her 40 feet in the air, and took off." Not Again! Another Story Tells of Attack on Ballona Creek Trail
Late Friday, I received the following email after it had been forwarded a couple of times detailing another attack of a cyclist, David Santor, on the Ballona Creek Bike Trail. Cyclist Attacked on Ballona Creek Trail

The LAPD, favoring gate closure, has protested that they don't have the manpower to properly police the trail and entrances. This email shows that the problem is worse than we feared, it seems some police in the area don't seem to know that the trail exists.

Explanation of Rising Speed Limits: “The Public Votes with the Gas Pedal”
In recent weeks, CityWatch has done a fantastic job explaining why speed limits are rising throughout the city and why those limits are determined by speeding drivers and not the communities that have to deal with the speeding traffic.

July 4th Road Rage Crash Grabs Police and Media Attention
Yesterday LAist broke the story, with graphic images, of a road rage-caused crash between two experienced cyclists and an emergency room doctor with a bid of a trigger temper. Unlike past incidents, the mainstream media jumped on this story with graphic images making the story more “viewer friendly.” KNBC and CBS2 both ran stories on last night’s news and the Bottleneck Blog and KFI 640 both have stories online.
