Advisory Committee for Gold Line Eastside Extension Meets Next Thursday
There have been a fair number of folks making comments on this site and
elsewhere on the internet about the recently opened Gold Line Eastside
Extension and safety. This coming week the advisory committee that
provides input to Metro on such issues is holding a meeting near the
Indiana Street station (Alma is the next street east of Indiana, and
the School is midway between 1st and 3rd Streets) in the evening.
Certainly worth checking out if you want to share such comments directly .

SCAG Federal Certification Review Public Listening Session
SCAG's main power is that to apply for federal funding projects must be

Plans and Programs Technical Advisory Committee, which provides
technical input to SCAG staff on the Plan as it is prepared. So I am
familiar with the process, which at times was beyond mind numbing in
its complexity.

The View from a Folding Chair
It is important from time to time as an advocate to expose yourself to the broader universe of perceptions and experience beyond the universe of fellow advocates, agency staff, officials, etc. populating the policy sphere. We all have a stake in transportation issues and it is educational to meet the public and engage with it in an exchange of knowledge, hear their thoughts and concerns plus answer questions.
