Colorado Blvd and Eagle Rock: Appreciating the Past and Improving the Future
Co-sponsored by the Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council this walk will explore the past and future of Colorado Boulevard and beyond. Led by Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council member Ashley Atkinson and LA Walks Steering Committee member Mark Vallianatos this four mile walk will travel along Colorado Boulevard up to the iconic Eagle Rock itself and return to our starting point. Along the way you'll get to learn a little about the history of the Eagle Rock neighborhood; recent efforts by the neighborhood council, Council District 14, and Take Back the Boulevard to improve the boulevard; and can help identify opportunities for additional improvements.

Two New Bike Corrals Installed on Abbot Kinney Blvd.
Fabled Abbot Kinney Boulevard, on Los Angeles' Westside, is the first street in the city to have two bike corrals installed. Councilmember Mike Bonin alerted Streetsblog to their installation this morning and I was able to bike over and catch one of the installations as it was being finished and another corral in action.

Weekend Update: The Crash Is Back
The rumors are true. The "Marathon Crash" ride is back on for this evening. Times: City Blew it on Wolfpack Hustle Marathon Crash Race
The Los Angeles Times weighed in on the fire fight over the Wolfpack Hustle Marathon Crash Race cancellation. While the Times pretty much treats the city's version of events as fact, it still finds the city at fault for forcing the cancellation of a fun, low-cost event that attracted thousands of Angelenos to a safe and healthy event.
