Metro Takes to the Web to Promote Sales Tax Measure R

9_3_08_metro.jpg

Hat Tip to Curbed LA.

Now that it appears that Measure R, Metro's sales tax measure, will almost certainly be on this fall's ballot, Metro is ramping up its efforts to promote the ballot proposal.  The first of those efforts is a new website that contains all of the information a voter would need to decide whether or not to vote for or against the proposal.  Links to a complete project list, descriptions of how the money would be spent, and a Frequently Asked Questions list.

So far, the debate over the sales tax has been domianted by the people who oppose the sales tax.  While it's good to finally see Metro begin promoting Measure R in some way shape or form, so far they've done very little to let people know they're promoting it.  Indeed, the only link to the new page off the front of Metro.net is relegated to the lower right corner and is only on the page half the time rotating with a link on how to contact Metro to film at their facilities.
