Streetfilms: Park(ing) Day NYC

If you’re a regular reader of this blog, it’s probably no surprise that Streetfilms’ Clarence Eckeson was out and about in New York City on Friday on his bike shooting film just as I was on my bike taking pictures.  Eckerson reports that Park(ing) Day NYC had:

…over 50 parking spaces temporarily reclaimed throughout the city, nearly doubling last year’s total. I’ll say this: that’s a lot of freaking sod!!

  • Fantastic film. Maybe next year we can get them out here to make a film, since I believe that we actually had more spaces in LA than in NYC! I think we should make it a competition every year now. Round 1 goes to LA. We’re actually winning at something! Too bad it’s not permanent.

  • Maybe next year I’ll use more sod and multi-lingual flyers and signage. I had a bunch of people come up to me and ask me if I was selling plants and lawn furniture at the Park[ing] Day park I set up!

The geniuses at Streetfilms have begun taking some of their films and translating them to Spanish.  As we rapidly approach Parking Day both here and in New York, it makes sense that the fist film to be translated is their film on last year’s Parking Day NYC.  For more information on Parking Day LA, click […]
