Status of Wilshire Repaving
Sometimes it is hard to keep up with the whirl of local activities and events relating to transit. For example the meeting L.A. City Council member Tom LaBonge held July 18th on the future of Wilshire totally escaped my attention.

Whatever the reason, one thing is clear: More Americans are opting out of the late 20th Century ideal where the answer to every transportation question was the car. If you follow just about any major media coverage of street etiquette and safety, by now you've probably seen a piece vilifying people on bikes for "running" stop signs. But hop on a bike yourself, and you'll start to see why safely rolling and yielding at stop signs makes sense.

Happy 4th of July, See You on Thursday
The Los Angeles Streetsblog team is taking tomorrow off, but we'll be back on Thursday and Friday with our regular coverage. I know Kris is working on a story on a recent Boyle Heights Neighborhood Council meeting, I'm working on an update to A.B. 904 which would eliminate parking minimums in certain situations and Gary and Sahra are working on updates in South L.A. and Santa Monica.
