I just got back from the Presidential Forum on Global Warming & America's Energy Future and wanted to post a quick report. I'm sure Grist will have a more in-depth one shortly and a transcript. But, for those of you looking for some transportation news out of the debate, I'm here to tell you there wasn't any.

A look at Edwards/Obama Greenhouse Gas Plans
Some people felt I was a little harsh on Hillary on Friday, arguing that other candidate's Greenhouse Gas plans weren't any better than hers in recognizing the link between reducing emissions and alternative transportation. Let's see how some of the other Dems' plans stack up.

Hillary’s GG Plan: Alternative Transportation Barely Spoken Here
It was with some enthusiasm that I started reading Powering America's Future: Hillary Clinton's Plan to Address the Energy and Climate Crisis, most of my immediate family are supporting Hillary, but my enthusiasm waned as I read it further. Clinton's plans to reduce greenhouse gasses barely mention transit.

Dems for President to Talk Environment in LA
Grist, the nation's leading environmental blog, and a who's-who of heavy hitters in the environmental community are sponsoring a debate for the Democratic presidential candidates in the Wadsworth Theatre on Saturday, November 17th. It will be interesting to see if any of the top tier presidential candidates tackle the need to reduce automobile dependency. I'll have a full analysis of Senator Clinton's plan (linked in the clips) on Monday.
