(When I found out that Kris was "doored" a little over a week ago, I asked him to write about it on Streetsblog. I didn't push him to editorialize about it, something the reporter in him is loathe to do with his personal experiences. El Mercado del Pueblo Opens in Boyle Heights
El Mercardo del Pueblo, or the neighborhood market, opened Saturday after months of work securing a path for street vendors to vend legally. East Los Angeles Community Corporation organizers helped street vendors get permits, certificates, and undergo inspections in order to sell at the market, which was located at Hollenbeck Middle School.
