In partnership with CarFreeSFV.com and the LA Los Angeles River Revitalization Corp., we're looking to highlight the ways you can go green beyond just riding your bike. Take the pledge to go car-free (or car-lite) that day! Here are the details for the ride, as well as the walk.

CicLAvia IX: Iconic Wilshire Corridor has come and gone. While my Facebook feed is full of happy adults and smiling children, I know that my social media streams aren't the best way to gauge how well an event was received.

CicLAvia is behind us, but there's a full list of important hearings that cover everything from ExpressLanes to green taxis. When it's all over, there's a fun bike event for kids at the Foshay Learning Center.

Together we envision an annual Earth Day event where community residents come together in a safe environment to have fun, celebrate our foods and cultures, learn about and participate in sustainable practices, and connect with each other and organizations working to make positive change in our neighborhood.

For those that don't know, Critical Mass is a monthly bike ride that takes place on the 4th Friday of the month. The purpose of the ride is to gather so many cyclists that drivers can't ignore them, buzz them or harass them. This both created a safe place for cycling and made a statement that the needs of cyclists is too big to ignore. In Santa Monica, Critical Mass met on the first Monday, so that it didn't conflict with the larger event that starts in Los Angeles' Koreatown on the 4th Friday.
