If You’re Riding the All City Toy Ride, We Need Your Help
For years, L.A. Streetsblog referred to the All City Toy Ride as the best bike event in the country that very few people outside of L.A. have heard of. This year, we're going to do our part to change all that. We've recruited film maker Rob Adams, the same film maker who made our two CicLAvia Streetfilms and "You're Never Too Old...," to make a film on the 6th installment of the All City Toy Ride.

As Washington Drags Its Feet, States Take the Lead on Mileage Fees
Oregon, true to its history as the first state to implement a gas tax, was also the first state to consider getting rid of it -- in exchange for adopting a mileage-based system for highway funding. And the Beaver state isn’t alone: A number of other states have done studies and introduced legislation to charge drivers for the distance they travel instead of the gasoline they consume.

Housing Bust Poster-Child Miami Invites More Sprawl
Since 2007, there have been more than 265,000 foreclosures in South Florida's Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties. Almost 50 percent of the region's homes are worth less than the amount that is owed on the mortgage. In January, the Miami Herald reported that foreclosures had overwhelmed the local court system and that nearly 200 foreclosures a day would have to be processed in order to meet local goals.

Metro’s TAP System Moving Forward, But Some Snafus Remain for Bus Riders
Wednesday, Metro experimented with locking the gates at the North Hollywood Red Line station and unlike previous experiments with locking the gates, outside of an article on The Source, nobody seemed to notice. As with previous gate-locking experiments, there was little confusion among commuters. Most "Tapped" their way through the gate while those with paper or Metrolink tickets were aided by staff.
