As Promised, Sharrows Appear in Hermosa Beach
One month ahead of the schedule communicated to guest writer Joe Linton, Sharrows have appeared on the main streets of the1.7 square mile city of Hermosa Beach. The Sharrows were a major part of the city's Bikeways Master Plan, but amazingly that didn't stop them from actually putting the Sharrows on the ground.

Ohio Transit Riders Dumped by the Side of the Road
Earlier this year, Lorain County, Ohio, purchased 13 new buses for
its transit service using federal stimulus money. Come January 1, those
buses are going to be sitting idle.

Next Wednesday: Another Bike-Only City Council Transportation Committee Hearing
Via the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, next Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. will be another "bicycle heavy" Transportation Committee Hearing. There's some new and interesting stuff on the agenda, such as a "bicycle anti-harassment ordinance," and some old friends such as an update on the Draft Bike Plan. Below is the LACBC's email, and once the agenda items are posted tomorrow we'll have a full review.

Help Deliver Christmas Trees to Local Schools Tomorrow…By Bike
Los Angele's award winning high school debate team from the Santee Learning Center is looking to spread some holiday cheer to other local schools tomorrow. The debaters will lead a fourteen and a half mile bike ride from the Learning Center to Venice High School and they'll be stopping along the way to deliver Christmas trees to area high schools at 11:00 A.M. Christopher Thompson Sentencing Postponed Because of Potential Swine Flu Outbreak
For anyone looking for news on the sentencing of the "Mandeville Canyon Road Rage Doctor," you're going to have to wait until the new year. DJ Wheels, who has done the yeoman's work covering the trial for this blog and others, reports that the sentencing was postponed until January 8 at the request of the defense and over the objections of the prosecution.
