Let's rewind to about a year ago. We still weren't sure whether or not the sales tax measure now known as Measure R would make it to the fall ballot, and activists of all ilk were rallying to try and make certain their favored mode of transportation wouldn't be left out in the cold.

House to Vote This Week on Weak ‘Cash for Clunkers’ Plan
The House is poised this week to take up the so-called "cash for
clunkers" bill, which aims to boost the slumping U.S. auto market by
giving out tax credits of $3,500 and up to anyone who trades in a
gas-guzzling car for a more efficient model.

Dodgers Celebrate Heroes Week with Free Parking
The Los Angeles Dodgers, the same organization which refused to help fund bus service to the stadium and even mocked the service the nearly-broke City of Los Angeles provided at no-cost to them last season, found a new way to kick dirt in the eyes of its transit riding fans. Via press release:

LACBC Hosts 9th Annual River Ride
Yesterday was the LACBC's 9th Annual River Ride, which doubles as a major fundraiser for the Bike Coalition and a heck of a bike party in Griffith Park. As normal, a couple thousand people showed up ready and eager to pay $50 for some schwag and a chance to ride the streets and bike paths of L.A to show their support for the LACBC and better, safer cycling in Los Angeles.
