LACBC Kicks Off “City of Lights” Outreach Program
This morning the Los Angeles County Bike Coalition rode their fourth monthly "Car-Free Friday." The now-familiar trappings were there, a smattering of media showing up to catch an image of dozens of cyclists with the local City Councilmember, this time Ed Reyes. However, as great as the Car-Free Friday progam is, this morning also marked the beginning of the LACBC's newest program, "City of Lights."

Bike Friendly Friday: Culver City
For many cyclists that don't live in Culver City, a discussion of bikes centers around two bike trails: the Ballona Creek Bike Path and the planned, funded but not approved Expo Bike Path. However, Culver City is working and planning to become the kind of bike-town that could rival Santa Monica for top spot on the Westside.

Is the Obama Administration Poised to Push Transit?
While President Barack Obama promoted wind power and cap-and-trade legislation, VP Joe Biden spent Earth Day talking up transit. Public radio's "The Takeaway"
reports that Biden held a presser at a bus maintenance facility in
Landover, Maryland, to tout a $300 million investment in hybrid buses
and other municipal vehicles as part of the federal stimulus package.
