L.A. Streetsblog 2011 Blogger of the Year: Brigham Yen

[caption id="attachment_67114" align="aligncenter" width="576" caption="Not a Bruin, but pro-traffic relief. Yen in 2008."][/caption]

When I first met Brigham Yen, it was in 2008 at a "Bruins for Traffic Relief" rally for Measure R at the corner of Westwood Boulevard and Wilshire Boulevard.  Yen stuck in my memory because not only was he not a Bruin of any sort, but also because Yen traveled to the rally all the way from Pasadena.

In the past year, BrighamYen.com has replaced Angelenic as the lead competitor to Blog Downtown as the online source for news about transportation, development, developments and urban planning on Downtown Los Angeles.  Originally it seemed the the website was a smart way to promote Yen's actual job as a real estate agent and talk about urban planning and philosophy, but over the past year Yen has broken news several times and is on the short list of websites that I just have to go to every day.
