A River Used to Run Through It: A Hydrophilic Tour of Eagle Rock
Don’t worry, you won’t need a paddle
or boat on this tour of Eagle Rock. Just saddle up on your bicycle
and join C.I.C.L.E.’s Urban Expedition at 5pm on Saturday, July 19,
2008 at Eagle Rock Park. Urban legend, historical documentation
and stories from Eagle Rock old timers create the framework of this
bicycle ride that will reveal where springs, creeks, and seeps once existed.
Along the tour, riders will get a crash course in “streamseeking”—looking
for clues in the contemporary landscape that point to where water once
flowed, and learn more about the thriving community of Eagle Rock.
The League Certified Bicycle Instructors of C.I.C.L.E. will partner
with expert local guides to highlight what few others know about the
area.
