Sad that City of LB is stopping the Railyard Project. The Alameda Rail Corridor has massive excess capacity. Instead of having 3 million truck trips of 24 miles from quay to a inland rail switching yard, the Railyard project would enable these 3 million truck trips to travel only 3 miles.

    That’s a good thing

They should put the rail directly on-dock (no truck trips) and I don’t know why they haven’t proposed that.

trains already go direct to docks, this switching yard 3 miles from docks eliminates a massive bottleneck at the main switching yard 25 miles inland.
