Monday, Wednesday, Thursday – Apparently there’s this plan to completely demolish Beverly Hills High School (hey, I read the Courier) that Metro is pushing that will also allow them to build a subway extension. Weird. How have I not heard of this before? There are meetings scheduled from 5:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. this week to discuss the planning. Tuesday – At 10:00 A.M. the Southern California Association of Governments hosts “Toolbox Tuesdays.” This month’s topic focuses on implementing Complete Streets which comes at an opportune time. Next week, the SCAG Board of Directos is voting on a long-term plan that could include a Complete Streets policy.
Tuesday – The Library Alehouse (129 Main Street, Santa Monica) opens at 11:00 A.M. From that moment until they close, 10% of everything they sell comes to Streetsblog. Oh, and we’ll have raffles too. Tuesday – The Transit Coalition has moved their monthly dinner meetings to Metro HQ, and to celebrate that move they have a big speaker lined up: Metro CEO Art Leahy. Get the details of the meeting, and how to order food, here . Or, you could just come to the Library Alehouse afterwards and eat there. Either way.
Wednesday – The City Council Transportation Committee meets to dangerous intersections, dangerous light rail lines, dangerous motor homes parked in the street, and car sharing. Read the full agenda, including meeting time and location, here .

Saturday – We don’t usually cover events in the ‘Bu, but given our role in mocking a traffic safety commissioner there that helped lead to the creation of a bike/pedestrian safety committee it seemed that we should promote their efforts to try and make the PCH work again. The committee looking at the issue meets this Saturday. I hear there are going to be big things unveiled. Fingers crossed. Get the details, here .
