Rolling with the Real Rydaz Low Rider Bike Club » Ms. P and Cali Girl
Ms. P originally hails from Windsor, England, but has been here since she was 17. Her Cali Girl is a work of art–just about everything on it is twisted chrome, including the delicate spiral holding her water bottle. It took a few months to put it together and required finding and rehabilitating junk parts before they could be built into the bike. Manny in Compton is responsible for most of the work, she said, double-dipping the chrome and making it pretty much indestructible. She spoke about the structure of the group and their belief in the importance of adhering to the rules of the road. “If someone on the road is not following the rules,” she said referring to other members of the group, “then they can endanger all of us.” Plus, they are aware that kids are watching them, and so they actively work to set a good example, using hand signals and riding with pride.
